Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM)

Did you know that CCIM is the acronym for Certified Commercial Investment Member, a REALTOR® designation awarded by the National Association of REALTORS® through its CCIM Institute? It is estimated that only 6% of approximately 125,000 commercial real estate practitioners (nationwide) hold the CCIM designation. CCIM designees include real estate brokers, leasing professionals, investment counselors, asset managers, appraisers, corporate real estate executives, property managers, developers, institutional investors, commercial lenders, attorneys, and bankers. Through this business network, CCIMs complete about 156,000 transactions annually, representing over $400 billion.

The designation is earned by completing four five-day courses that incorporate essential skills: financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate. Once the courses are completed, CCIM candidates submit a resume of closed transactions showing a depth of experience in commercial investment real estate. Finally, upon successful completion of the comprehensive exam, candidates earn the designation. This process ensures that CCIMs understand theory and practice.

In order to serve CCIMs around the country, local chapters are formed for the purpose of providing networks for deal making opportunities. Our local chapter serves Colorado and Wyoming, and holds monthly marketing sessions and periodic continuing education courses.

When you have a commercial real estate need, consult a CCIM.
